SHORT: Great Zarquon! Go ditch those Cls cmds!!! (Doh!)

Hey Yeah! (Zaphodish voice) What's with these freakin' cls cmd's?! ANSIX3.64
What's the matter with everyone? In the past few months there's been
over four (4!) different 'Clear Screen' commands uploaded to the Aminet!
Why use a separate command that uses up diskspace, takes too many millisecs
to actually load and obviously is a total waste of your life using at all?! :/
So, here it is, in a dead simple and foolproof (Yeah!) way - How to clear
your damn console window without downloading no pesky 'Cls' command at all!
1. Make sure your OS is a bit up to date. (Go freak out if your 1.1 won't do it)
2. Try to locate your keyboard - it'll be a bit of a waste learning the
secrets of AmigaOS without the ability to use such a thing as a keyboard.
3. Figure out how to open up a Console window:
Try to doubleclick the 'Shell' icon or press the hotkey combo ramiga+e
and enter the word 'cli' in the resulting prompt.
4. Make a huge effort in typing the word 'clear' in the very same console window
(Shell, CLI whatever) and then gently persuade the 'return' key to establish
a sligtly recessed position in a not very dignified manner at all.
5. Watch in astonishment as the console window instantly refreshes itself and actually
gets rather neatly cleaned up. How's that for the rest of our planet?
6. Go ahead and alter your shell-startup if you really must have that 'clear'
alias named 'cls' instead. (Doh)
7. If all above fails then feel extraordinary lucky not to be totally humiliated
by me and this textfile. Instead, go ahead and add the following wellknown alias
to your shell-startup:
Alias Cls "Echo *"*E[0;0H*E[J" " (Useless info: The *E substitutes the Esc char )
======================================================================================
To simply clear and reset everything try typing the following escape sequence into a
console window just to see how amazingly cool I am (Got a piece of meat to store inside me?):
echo "*Ec"
======================================================================================
And if you, by some strange coincident, happen to have an alias to _close_ the console
then please note that the default hotkey really is 'ctrl+\' =)
======================================================================================
Thanks for your time then and do notify me if there's a 'dir' command that is as pretty
as the AFS-replacement _and_ works with 'style' ie doesn't set the bgcolour to grey.
